Road Trip Review Part 2: Athens
The second leg of my wondrous adventure took me to the University of Georgia in Athens. I figured that since I was up north I might as well drop by and see the Senior and his sister…and watch Georgia take on Auburn. When I rolled up to the fabulous Mi Casa apartments, E Block didn’t have a roof. My first thought was “tornado” but seeing how there wasn’t a trailer park in sight, it must be construction/renovation. Oh yeah, I guess I should have mentioned the fact that it had been raining a good bit earlier in the day. Needless to say it was a bit damp in the Sixth Year’s pad but nothing we couldn’t handle. Hopefully Matt won’t have any Smufs living in his apartment in the no so distant near future.
Now time for a completely random story that I found extremely funny. Matt, Mary Beth and I were sitting in the IHOP chowing down on some grub when some people behind us were talking about medical schools. One girl was like, “…I was thinking about Duke, Emery, and the new one at FSU…” Right after she said FSU I shouted, “GO NOLES!!!” I mean, hey, I’m required to show school sprit where ever I go right? But right after I said that…silence. Apparently I shut her down. Heh, GO NOLES!!
I would like to extend a special JoshuaStarling.com thank you to the Davis’ and the UGA BSU for an awesome Bulldog Tailgating experience. Man, the pigs in a blanket were amazing! And what better way to drown out the sorrow of ya’ll losing to Auburn than to build a fire, shoot fireworks, and talk about the many ways you can have fun with frogs. It was at that time that I felt proud to be a Georgia native. Hang on while I wipe away a tear. And just for the record, Climax is NOT a suburb of Blackjack. If any of ya’ll are heading down this way for Thanksgiving, stop by Climax for the Swine Time Festival. It’s the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. w00t!!
Well, that more or less concludes my adventures in the South. I did leave out some details because Matt is supposed to write a rambling. If you see him, please remind him of this. Until tomorrow boys and girls, keep it between the ditches.
