You win some…

…and you lose some. Although I didn’t wake up with my head sewn to the carpet, it still sucked. And let me tell you, nothing is more depressing than actually being at the game. Its one thing to watch it on TV, but hear happy Gator fans left in the vacuum of FSU sucking it up, not cool. And nothing rains on my game day parade quite like happy Gator fans. I will say that a majority of Gators at the Doak were tolerable, more so that Miami fans.

I had a long walk across campus back to my car to ponder our loss. I said to myself, “Self, where did we go wrong?” After much thinking, I couldn’t really place the blame solely on one person or thing. So here are my reasons why we lost to the Gators…at home…on field dedication day:

1.) Jeff Bowden. I can’t stress this one enough. Anyone who watches FSU football will soon realize that our offensive “strategy” is to give the ball to Booker two or three times in a row, attempt the same play two or three times in a row, or long bomb it down the right side of the field. FSU’s glory days of sneaky plays are long gone. If you would like to vent your frustration, you could try out this site. And Jeff, I highly recommend you go out and pick up a copy of this book. Finally, Bobby follow the fans advise and “Send Jeff to UF.”

2.) Rix Happens. Honestly, we should have started Rix sooner in the game if not at the beginning of the game. Despite his record with Miami, Rix can tear up some Gator. When Rix came out after the half, he did more to move the team down field that Sexton did. Not to mention an awesome touchdown pass. However, and I mean however, Rix went out in his typical fashion: an interception to lose the game. What a way to end your career at FSU. ChrisRixSucks.com

3.) Football 101. We played like total crap. Dropped balls, missed catches, missed tackles, missed field goals, and missed opportunities. And come on guys, when the opposing team fumbles the ball, dive on it. Don’t kick it out of bounds. I recommend a copy of this book for your favorite player for Christmas.

4.) Bad Karma. When your new star quarterback ends up on ESPN wearing this, that can’t be a good sign. Also, it was supposed to rain at the game, so I brought my trusty FSU poncho. You know, the one that I wore to the Miami game last year…our last home game loss. Finally, they were dedicating the field to Bobby. What could possibly go wrong?

About all I can say is that we deserved to lose. I keep saying that maybe Bobby/FSU will wake up and see what’s going on, but I’m beginning to doubt that. FSU is still bowl eligible, but the only bowl that we qualify for is the Toilet Bowl presented by 2000 Flushes. w00t!

And yes, I’m working on getting the pics from the NC State and Gator game ready so I can post them tomorrow. I know, I know…its about time.
