Cracked Up
That’s just about the only term I can think of to describe ‘Little Monsters‘. Actually, you could probably say, “Cracked up with a hint of LSD, pot, and crystal meth.” Man, that just isn’t the same movie I remember it as. I guess I should keep in mind that I was 8 years old at the time, and movies like that were probably funnier back then. But no matter what people say, I’m going to stick by my guns and say that I still enjoyed the movie and it will stay part of my collection. I would insert a cool quote from the movie here, but no one would probably get it. If you missed our viewing last night, I’m sure that I can arrange another special viewing.
I’m still going to hold out for The Monster Squad. And just for the record, Tron rocks too.
And in other news, I’ve had a lot of people tell me about Bonsai Kitten (link credit goes out to Kari). I would have to say that this is the most original idea I’ve ever seen for cats. Basically, “by physically constraining the growth of a developing living thing, it can be directed to take the shape of the vessel that constrains it.” Just think of a ship in a bottle…but with a cat. Man, if I could get my hands on one of those, I would so mod my computer with a clear case and put the cat inside. Then if things started to heat up (like my video card) the cat would start meowing or something. I’d be the coolest kid on the block.
Well, that about sums things up for this Friday. I do apologize if the above post is a little scatter brained. It’s been a long week and I’ve got an even longer weekend ahead of me. Oh, that reminds me…I’ve reworked the Archives section of the site. I’ve still got some more content to add to that section, but at least everything’s in one place from now on. Enjoy my past history goodness.

I'm currently living in Tallahassee, FL where I am a graduate of the Computer Science program at FSU and a C# web developer for a local software company.
I came in at the end of the movie, so I didn’t see it. But judging from the expression on the viewers’ faces, it must have been cracked out. Maybe I’ll watch it one day. Maybe.
But, maybe you should contact the webmistress of the Little Monsters website. Hmm… Webmaster and Webmistress J, maybe one day?
Until then, the Webmaster and I also run a dating service. All ladies should send their application, a photo, and a registration fee to us and we will pair you up with a handsome, single Webmaster. All profits are split evenly between me and the Webmaster himself.
Hey webmaster, nice work on the archive section. I like it.
wow! you have monster squad on video?!? i used to love that movie! it has to be my all time childhood favorite! i liked little monsters, too but monster squad was the greatest!
speaking of childhood memories, i never once thought about making the connection of trix rabbit to the old NDN stories that i learned as a kid. there may be a link between the two because in the old NDN stories the rabbit was always the trickster, thus the name trix rabbit. we see a recurrance in sioux tradition with ikatomi, the spider. the name ikatomi itself means trickster. and also navajo/pueblo/zuni stories tell of coyote or ma’ii (navajo) as their trickster. it was the rabbit that became familiar with colonial america and even colonial-era britian because of the relationship between cherokee and other iroquois stories that featured the rabbit. their stories made it back to britain where they were published as children’s stories, thus forever branding the rabbit as the trickster. i’ll have to do further research to confirm my epiphany, though. i’ll keep y’all posted.
