Special Saturday Edition: Faith Of A Child
I have the honor and privilege of announcing that my youngest nephew accepted Christ as his savior yesterday. It went a little something like this (more or less since I wasn’t there
):
Michael: Am I a sinner?
His Mom: Yes, you are. We are all born sinners.
Michael: And that’s why Jesus died on the cross?
His Mom: Yes, He died so we can be forgiven of our sins and go to Heaven with Him when we die.
Michael: Well, I need to ask Jesus to come into my heart right now.
Boys and girls, I should mention that my nephew is 5 years old. He may not grasp what it means to be a Christian or everything that Christ has done for us, but he recognizes the need for Jesus and stepped out on a faith.
If a 5 year old can recognize this, why can’t most of us adults see this?
The good news is that I now know that I’ll see all of my immediate family when I get to heaven. What about your family? Better yet: What about you? If something happened to you on your drive home today, are you 100% sure that you’ll go to heaven?
Something to think about.

I'm currently living in Tallahassee, FL where I am a graduate of the Computer Science program at FSU and a C# web developer for a local software company.
How proud you must feel for your nephew! But in answer to your question, well I believe there is a stop between your life eternal, so if I died in a car accident today I would go there first along with all the rest of my family and believers. I do believe though when judgement day rolls around I will be with our Lord Savior.
WOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
strike another one up for the home team!!!
Webmaster J,
There could not be any better news to be posted on a Saturday or any other day for that matter!!I know that there was rejoicing in Heaven yesterday because the Word tells us that the angels rejoice when even one lost sinner puts their faith in JESUS as LORD and SAVIOR.”Let the little children come to me,and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.(Mk 10:14b-15 NIV).You see,Joshua, here lies the problem why most of us adults can’t see salvation as little Michael did. We try to make it something difficult when it is not. It’s kinda like that acronym K.I.S.S.–keep it simple stupid!!But K.I.S.S. also can be used as-keep it simple sinner.
Dad
A simple faith that makes this grown man cry tears of joy.
Catholic Chica,
Here are two passages from the Bible that disproves purgatory beliefs:
If you notice, the poor man was immediately taken to heaven and the rich man to hell when they died. No waiting there. Also, Luke 16:26 makes reference to a great gulf fixed between heaven and hell over which no one can pass.
One other passage to make note of is
The Bible speaks only of two destinations for those who die, heaven and hell. Jesus promised the thief on the cross, who certainly had not had an exemplary life, that he would be with him in Paradise immediately. Furthermore, there is no need for purgatory. A person who has faith in Christ has complete forgiveness of sins. There is no more debt to be paid. A person who does not have faith in Christ has no forgiveness of sins. No amount of time in purgatory could ever pay for his or her sins.
to catholic chica and joshua,
i have been keeping up with the current postings. while i am myself a baptist i do believe that we all are worshipping the same God. we each have our own seperate forms of belief but the God we serve is one and the same. let me explain. the church that makes up the body of the Lord originated from the same place. at one point, the church divided itself into what is now the roman catholic and the orthodox church. during this time, there were people who disagreed with both churches pertaining on where divine intervention took place. you see, the catholic church still believes in the priesthood, similar to the pharisees of the old testiment. the priest of the church is the one who can intervine to relieve the person of sin by prescribing a set amount of prayer, thus the hail mary (which is a totally different and lengthy story that’ll wait until later). now this group, known as the protestants because they protested the catholic beliefs, understood that there was direct connection between a person and God and there was no need for the priesthood. seeing as how we needed leadership to help guide our understandings they elected people into a pastorhood, like the modern protestant churches you and i attend, joshua. it was only within the last few centuries that the protestant church was divided into the different denominations that we have today, like the baptists, presbyterians (whose beliefs are still similar to the orthodox catholic church), methodists, pentecostal, etc.
i just thought that i’d offer some insight on this. some of this info may not be completely accurate as i had this conversation with another catholic friend of mine several years ago and had actually heard a sermon about the modern protestant church a few years back and now i realize that i should listen closer more often. but i just wanted to throw that out there for y’all’s rhetorical pleasure.
um presbyterianism is a FAR cry from Catholocism
