Arrggg…Monday

Monday cometh again, like the four horseman of the apocalypse. No, I don’t want l33t l33t, w00t w00t. I would prefer, in fact, a time machine to propel me into the future at 88 MPH. Destination: 3:59 PM on Friday (aka t-minus one minute ’till quitting time). If you could do that…that would be great. But I’m a realist and I know that would never happen unless I had a flux capacitor.
And speaking of time traveling Deloreans, Crossbridge had our first monthly cruise in at Whataburger on Saturday. And I must say we had one heck of a turn out: about 10 classic cars and 6 modern muscle cars. Rock, rock on my friends. Other than that hot ’02 Mustang GT at the cruise in, my favorite was a ’34 Ford Roadster. I assure you that my favoritism has nothing to do with the fact that I got to go for a ride in it…not at all. I also do have a little story that came out of this event:
I was talking to a friend of mine, checking out his pimped out Mustang, and his little kid comes up to me, “Hey mister, which one is your car?” Honestly, I halfway expected him to ask me if he could smell my car and offer me some boiled peanuts (history on that comment here). So I point out my baby to him. He walks around my car and does this 152 point inspection.
He gets to back of the car and says, “Hey mister, did you really get your car from Cairo, GA?”
“I sure did dude.”
“Cool.” he says, “Well I’m from Georgia too.”
No surprise there. “Oh yeah? Where at in great Empire State of the South?”
“Attapulgus.”
“You’re kidding…Attapulgus?”
“Yes sir.”
“Dude, that’s where I work!”
And cue ‘It’s a Small World After All’. Proof once again that I can’t go anywhere in Tallahassee without meeting someone from backwoods GA. But I’ve got some pics and I’ll post them as soon as I can. You all know how that goes.
Finally, after months of growing stale in the archives, I finally got a woman to do an article for the woman’s section. I know, I know…take a step back, breathe, and prepare yourself. Behold, I give you the first posting in: Futile Files of a Furious Female. Now before any ladies out there start banging on my virtual door with pitchforks and torches, let me say this: that title came from your own gender. Furthermore, hopefully you will follow in your fellow woman’s footsteps and send me more stuff to post in that section. At any rate, enjoy. And just a side note, I’m still working on the female’s homepage.

Sam – For letting me ride in his sweet 34 Roadster.

I'm currently living in Tallahassee, FL where I am a graduate of the Computer Science program at FSU and a C# web developer for a local software company.
Yay!
I can’t believe you man. I am most upset that the Webmaster of this fabulous site would allow a posting on the women’s section on P-day. I mean, it is P-day for crying out loud. What are you thinking?
I am also upset at the female poster. To even claim that I have the day off… I only wish. I am here at work on this wonderful P-day. What gives? I get no love from the women or the government, even on P-day. Grrrr…
For more on P-day, read this Feb 14, 2005 posting.
(I’m not really upset; I am just following the theme of discontent)
