The Circle Is Now Complete

Ahoy!

Yes, on some nerd-like level, I am complete. After watching all six Star Wars movies yesterday, I have come full circle across a story that has spanned two generations (both on and off screen). Despite the fact that I heavily criticized George Lucas this past year for what I thought was going to be a sucky end to the prequel trilogy, GL pulled it off quite well. Surprisingly well in fact. So much so, that I went into the original trilogy (Episodes IV-VI) with a deeper understanding and appreciation. With that said, if you are a fan of the series, I recommend that you see Episode III. You won’t be disappointed.

Props goes out to Captain Matt for sticking it out all day yesterday. We started at 7:00 AM and ended at 10:24 PM…one minute ahead of schedule. I’m not sure if I should be proud of my anal retentive planning skillz or upset at the fact that I was one minute off. Honorable mention goes out to Kari and Dems for staying with us most of the day. Apparently some people put work and school above at Star Wars-a-thon. I can justify me taking a vacation day to watch all six because the year it almost halfway gone and I haven’t taken any of my vacation days yet. So in essence, I got paid for eight hours yesterday to watch Star Wars.

It’s ok to be jealous.

But if anyone in the viewing area wants to go see Episode III, just let me know if you want some company. I need to see it at least four more times. Otherwise, have a great weekend everyone!!

OSLD: Oh snap!! Check out these tattoos of Star Wars, Transformers, and GI Joe.

Store Wars (link cred goes out to Anna). Jillian, you’ll get a kick out of this.

Okay. The Statewide Hurricane Exercise is complete.
I can finally take a few minutes to breathe.
Oh wait. Hurricane season officially begins in 12 days.
    Nevermind, scratch that rest thing.

Josh, I fully support your Star-Wars-A-Thon yesterday, as well as your ability to pull it off. People talk about doing that kind of thing all the time, but nobody ever actually does it, or they make it through a movie and a half then quit. I really wish I could have been there. Maybe I can make it for the Episode 1-9 a-thon in 6 years when the next three have been made. You know, after Lucas stops getting attention 24 hours a day and decides to make more Star Wars movies to boost his popularity.

So, completely off-topic, does Mr. Artie’s office have anything to do with those “XX Days until hurricane season!! 0h gn0!!” signs that are all over town? If so, would it be possible to get one by my driveway? If you could just go ahead and make that happen, that would be great, only I want it to say, “XX days until Colin Farrell is awesome”, and I want the numbers to count up instead of down.

It is Monday, right? Where is the update? My OCD is in overdrive. I swear I don’t remember how many times I’ve checked the sight today, but it’s been a lot since I’ve been at a computer almost all day.

I hope this doesn’t mean our beloved webmaster has fallen into a black hole of office work or illness.

  4. Joshua Starling Update — May 24, 2005 #

Hey Everybody. This is just an Update to let you know that Joshua Starling is still alive. I saw him this morning. Sadly, he is busy like a fool, so he may not get postings to his website up as he would like. So, fear not devoted fans, the JS is alive and well.

Perhaps I can hijack his site and do a post. We’ll see.

    Come back Joshua… Come back Joshua’s postings…

I would say that a guest post would be just great. As long as when I come to the site there’s something there to be read ;)

Hoooo-ly crap… teh Kari posted on JoshuaStarling!
Now all we have to do is get the uber-Holly to post and we’ll be all set!

Artie, I definitely think you should make a few update posts. I also definitely think your first post topic should be about how much awesome Sierra Mist is. “Water make scissors rusty, and then they crumble and they break, then paper scoops it up.”
