Better Late Than Never

Ahoy!

The auditors have parted ways with me today. After five long days of appeasing their every whim…I’m spent. Hence, the extremely late posting. I do feel a little used but I guess I’ll get over that. On the other hand, I guess that means I can resume my regular work schedule. Woo…hoo…?

In other news, it’s a three day weekend!! Now here the right spot for the Woo Hoo!! For those of you who strangely have an internet connection yet totally disconnected from the real world, it’s Memorial Day. Aside from remembering those who have given their lives for this country, that can only mean one thing: strips of charred cow, pig, and/or chicken smothered in a fine sauce with a tasty beverage. Yummay! Like the RT the Wise said the other day, it’s one of the few Mondays that I actually look forward too. Besides, when do I ever get the chance to grill, “sample” tasty beverages, and get paid for eight hours to do it? Hey, there are some benefits to having a job, aside from being thirty years old and living in your parent’s basement.

With that said, I hope that everyone has a safe and fun weekend. Please be careful and watch out for all the idiots on the road. As for me, I’ll be tethered to my pager this weekend. So if you are still in Tally, give me a holla…yo.

joshua, you are the man. why, i remember the days when i was the third man in a one person office. having worked in the office of the head honcho of the largest corporation on the reservation, i feel your pain. our auditors usually came in around mid june so long about this time of year i was usually bombarded with stacks of papers which contained documentation of tens of millions of dollars and it was my responsibility to compress them all into a nice and neat portfolio about twenty pages thick. and not to mention that this was also the time of year we have to crunch numbers for the BIA and the feds concerning the schools and then completely reformat those numbers and submit them to the state. so yes, i feel your pain. a little too well…

So I guess everyone had a good extended weekend? I’m still pretty sore and a little sunburned, but it was definitely worth it. After playing music at a 3.5 hour gospel church service, getting slung around behind a speedboat on an inner tube, being thrown into a pool by Michael J. Mears, and endless discussions about nothing with various people, I was really looking forward to coming back in here to the office and getting some good ole’ fashioned work done.

    NOT!

Since it’s 11:02 and I’ve completed pretty much everything I’m going to have to do here for the next 3 days, it’s up to you guys to entertain me.
