The Second Annual Double Deuces Award

Hello boys and girls and Happy Friday! Today I’m pleased to announce that I have selected the recipient of the 2005 Double Deuces Award. This is a prestigious award goes out to a someone or something who thinks they are God’s gift to society. However, in the process of spreading their talent, they screw over people time and time again. Sadly, last year’s winner Chris Rix (see September 13, 2004) could not be on hand today to present the award.
Now may I have the envelope please? And the Second Annual Double Deuces award goes to…
Surprised? I didn’t think so. Normally I would hold off until football season so see if any of our football players would get a nomination. However, Hollywood sealed the deal yesterday with this annoucment:
Optimus Prime has a prime release date: The Fourth of July.
Transformers, the long-planned, live-action movie based on the robot-morphing cartoon, comic and toy franchise, will roll into theaters July 4, 2007, DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures announced Wednesday. Michael Bay (The Island, The Rock) will direct; Steven Spielberg will executive produce.
And… there went my childhood. I swear man; Hollywood making bad movies is like that one kid in gym class that made everyone do push-ups. We all suffer.
Hollywood, we give you a double deuce salute!! May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.
Now I’m officially off my soap box.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend.
OSLD: Alcohol and Ammo game…a true classic.
40 things that can only happen in movies.
Only in FL: Men Hospitalized After Purposely Driving Into Bee Yard.
Check out this eBay auction. Make sure you read the questions at the bottom.
Finally someone with luck worse than mine.

I'm currently living in Tallahassee, FL where I am a senior in the Computer Science program at FSU and a C# web developer for a local software company.
When they aren’t making sequels and remakes and such, they are busy making special editions and director’s cuts of every movie ever made. Then there are the dvd’s with the special packaging. What does all of this mean?
Higher prices for us. Pay more for the same movie. Does anyone actually watch all of the special features on every dvd?
I still want to watch a movie this weekend.
