Ahoy!

Well boys and girls, it has been one heck of a week thus far. I’ve worked a total of about 25 hours in the past two days trying to get ready for the IT Audit next Monday. I don’t quite have a ream of paper printed out yet, but I’m working on it. Let’s just say that I can add “mad administrative assistant skillz” to my resume. I’ve been scanning documents, sorting, stapling, signing off, writing procedures, converting everything in God’s creation to PDF, and that’s just the tip of it.

And you maybe asking yourself, “Self, why is Joshua being an uber dedicated employee when the audit is still a week away. Check out my answer below.

Yes, that’s right. This is the first time in almost three years that I’ve taken consecutive work vacation days to go on a trip. In other words, my first vacation in a long time. As awesome as it seems, I really didn’t plan to take a vacation during an IT Audit. The audit was supposed to happen last week but got rescheduled. [insert losing game show sound here]. Let the chips fall where they may.

So starting tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be traveling to Washington D.C. with the wonderful Webmistress Kari to visit her brother. I’ve never been to D.C. before, so I can’t wait to check the place out. Imagine a backwater Georgia boy in the nation’s capital. Oh yeah! Besides, Kari scored us some el cheapo plane tickets and free room and board with the brother. So even if I am sitting beside some caged chickens on the plane ride up there…how could I pass this up? Just gotta make sure I get the pack with the parachute and not the one full of pots and pans. I keed, I keed…

But I’m trying to line up a guest poster or two for the next few days to keep you guys entertained. Part of me feels like Han Solo when he gave Lando the keys to the Falcon in Return of the Jedi. [insert I've got a bad feeling here] If her brother has broadband, I’ll try to upload a few pics of me with the President…having a beer. He is from Texas you know. Heck, I may even pull a Forrest Gump and swim across the pool. I won’t, however, been telling any secrets to Karl Rove.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and early next week.

Why can’t they smoke their own mary-ju-wana and come up with their own cartoon series, or own original movie?
