General Update

Ahoy!

Hello again boys and girls. Yes, I haven’t posted in a couple of days. Mucho sorry ’bout that. Between school and work, I’ve been mentally wiped out. Its one of those deals where I could hike five miles barefoot in the snow backwards but I couldn’t tell you square root of 81. Joy. Of course, the Dilbert from Monday illustrates this to some degree. Expect that’s been me all week. Heck, I even packed my lunch this morning and left it on the counter five minutes later.

Hmmm…so what has been happening? Well, on Friday I got to have dinner with my Mom and Dad when they got back into town from Jamaica. Saturday I went roller skating with Kari and her 3rd – 5th grade youth group. Yeah, me on roller skates, the king of graceful moves. I can honestly say that I didn’t bust my tail once. However, I can’t deny there weren’t a couple of close calls. Later on that night Kari and I finished putting together our puzzle…almost. It appears that somewhere between starting the puzzle in Tennessee and finishing it in Florida we lost a single piece. Yes…out of 1026 pieces…we managed to lose one. Oh well, deep down it was a nice accomplishment.

In other news, Engelhard decided to give BASF the double deucesa to their offer of $37 a share to buy us out. I can say that I don’t really blame them when you consider the fact that we’ve been hanging around $39 for most of this month. Heck we even open the market at $40 yesterday. That’s not to say that Engelhard isn’t interested in selling to BASF or BASF is going to give up pursuit. I honestly think they’ll get us one way or another…its just going to cost them a little more. In a news report yesterday BASF was considering offering $38 a share, but I’m sure the board will say that still isn’t good enough. Only time and money will tell…

Well, that’s about it for me. Just lots of not so fun stuff going on. But alas…I must press on. Happy Hump Day everyone!
