Last night Artie, Robert, and myself conquered the granddaddy of beers last night on our weekly beer tour. What beer do I speak of? The Mississippi Mud (aka The Mud). 32 ounces of black and tan goodness squeezed into one bottle. One mack daddy bottle. Just for reference, one bottle of wine is 750 ml and the Mud is 946 ml. That’s also the fancy English way of saying 1 quart. After a few weeks of supply shortages, we have tamed the beast.

Admittedly I was a little worried about this beer. I mean, what if it was 32 oz of sheer used motor oil-like nastiness? That’s a lot of beer to choke down with a meal…all for one check on a card in a quest to prove manliness. However, the beer turned out to be one of the better black and tans I’ve ever had, so that’s a good thing.

In the end, we polished that sucker off and I’ve got the bottle sitting on my bookcase like a trophy. My liver and kidneys live to fight another day!
