Texas Round Up

Happy Monday boys and girls!! Yes, another Monday! I wish my work weeks always went by as fast as last week. Actually…if I had go through what I did on last Tuesday…you can forget it. Some things just aren’t worth it.

But I’ve had a great time in Texas. Since most of the stuff was done at the hotel, we didn’t get out much. Irony? Wednesday we went to the Astros vs the Dodgers baseball game in downtown Houston. We had great seats along the first base line about 30 rows up. Our bus driver provided all the entertainment. For some reason, and who knows why, he decided to share his entire life with us. I’m talking High School band stories, his stint in the Marine Corp, and drinking habits. He also explained how black people come in many different colors: brown, light brown, red brown, doo doo brown, and a few more. Heck, he even told us a Crunk juice. I guess he was trying to bring a little culture to us white peoples. Thursday we ate at a restaurant called the Aquarium. It was basically a restaurant build around a two story fish tank. They also had a Sting-ray petting tank. Good idea? Afterwards we decided to check out the local bar scene (more on that tomorrow).

The meetings have also been great. Its nice to finally meet people I’ve either spoken to or emailed over the last nine years. And no, there hasn’t been a dull moment with 20+nerds locked in a room for hours at a time. I honestly expected more Star Trek jokes but there was one and a George Lucas joke. However, there were multiple Office Space references.

Thankfully I made it back to Tallahassee on time (well, five minutes late) and with my luggage around midnight. Needless to say I’m still recovering from my travels.
