The Butt Crack of Butt Crack’s Dawn

Just for the record, getting up at 4:44 AM sucks. Really sucks. If someone ever says, “Hey! Wouldn’t be a great idea if we woke up before 5 AM?!” You’re answer is: “NO!”

Despite the fact there was almost a full moon, it was pitch black dark. There wasn’t much traffic and it didn’t take me long to get to work. I did, however, manage to spot the black Havana police car sitting in the median as I came into town from the south. Although only barely. I pity the fool that was in a hurry to get out of Havana. One blue light special comin’ right up.

I made it to work around 5:50 AM and had all the servers shutdown by 6:20. They cut power, disconnected the generator, hooked up the mains, and I restarted all the servers (each in a specific order). We were ready to go by 7:30 AM…just in time for the work day to start.

Joy.

PS – I almost put up a butt crack for today’s image but I couldn’t bring myself to do a GIS for that.
