Thanksgiving Round-Up

Happy Monday everyone! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I know that I’m still stuffed! On Thursday, Kari and I ventured over to the Starling homestead in Alabama for some fried turkey/southern food goodness and family fun. And trust me…you cram 20 of us in a house and backwoods Bama and there’s never a dull moment. Friday Kari and her mom ventured out at the butt-crack of dawn to score some Black Friday swag. Kari picked up two 1.0 GB SD memory cards from Circuit City for about $3 a piece. She also got us a couple of DVDs for dirt cheap. Later on that day we had Thanksgiving with her family.

On Saturday we went to the FSU/UF game at high noon. Honestly, despite the fact that we lost, I’m rather happy with the outcome. We rallied in the 3rd quarter to tie the game and only lost by a touchdown. I was expecting a total slughater of Wake Forrest proportions. I will say there were a ton of Gators at the game. And every single one of them were annoying. The two highlights of the game are as follows:

  1. How many Gators does it take to figure out that if you smuggle in two bottles of my man, Jimmy Beam, into the stadium and sit in the FSU alumni section, you’re gonna get busted. The answer: more than three. That’s right. I had the pleasure of watching three Gators sitting about 10 rows up get escorted by TPD out for trying to drink booze in the middle of FSU alum. It was great!
  2. This t-shirt: “I’d rather have the chop than the clap.” Can I get an amen?

After the game, we went up to Climax to visit with my parents and my brother (and his family since they drove down from Tennessee). Sadly, because of the game, I didn’t make it to Swine Time. I know, sad pandas everywhere. It was also quite sad to see how empty my parents’ house is becoming as they get ready for Jamaica. But we did get to celebrate my youngest nephew’s birthday and I found out that my brother is coming down for Christmas! And that’s a good thing.

But all-in-all, it was a great Thanksgiving weekend. I just don’t want to see any more turkey or ham for a long time!

Odds for your death. Remember, no one makes it out alive.

Cursor Thief.

Four men try to rob an off-duty Baltimore police officer. Notice use of the verb “try”.

Using forensics: What would Michael Jackson look like today without all the surgery?

Distraction.

Apparently, the idea of stealing stuff out of houses and posting pictures of yourself with it on MySpace hasn’t gotten old for teenagers.

You didn’t break anyone’s arm this time, did you?

Nah, no broken bones this time around. And that’s exactly why I choose not to get either nephew this for Christmas.
