School != Good Times

Ahoy!

Happy Monday everyone! Well, it was a very long weekend to say the least. For the most part, I was trapped in my hole trying to do some school work. If you want to get technical, I was actually getting extremely frustrated and trying to figure out if I should drop the Data Structures class or not. Somewhere between Friday and Saturday night, I had decided to drop the class and talked myself out of it twice.

It was that bad.

But when I woke up Sunday morning, I realized that I was attacking the problem wrong and decided to try something a bit different. I am happy to report that I’m finally making headway with the program. I’ve got until next Sunday to finish it, so guess what I’ll be doing all week?

As for the problem, I’m supposed to enter in a number and find all the prime numbers from two to that number using a method called Sieve of Eratosthenes. Never heard of it? Neither had I until a week ago. I did write a working algorithm for that method last night but I realized there’s a better way to do it. So I’ll be rewriting that tonight and hopefully start work on the rest of the assignment.

And yes, I’m feeling a little better about the class.

In other news, I finally took the plunge and I’m trying out a natural keyboard. I found a really good deal on this keyboard where I ended up getting it for only $5 after sale and rebate. I figured I could try typing on a natural keyboard for $5. I just started to using it today and I’ll keep you informed on how things progress. So far I can say that it’s going to take a a bit of getting used to.

OK, I think that’s it for me today. Oh, I will mention that we more or less designed the wedding invitations last night and I believe Kari and her mom will be making a trip down to work on getting a caterer.

    Man, this would have been a perfect time to switch to the Dvorak typing standard…

    Of course, you’ve got less than a year for the Optimus

    Dustin, have you ever tried using the DSK keyboards instead of the QWERTY?
    I’d like to try a one-handed Dvorak configuration sometime to see if my brain is capable of typing and controlling a mouse at the same time.
    Until then, I’ll keep trying the rub your belly and pat your head thing, or at least the chewing gum and walking at the same time thing.
