Still Kicking

Man, I feel like I’ve been run over by a freight train. Last week and the beginning of this week have been brutal. I spent most of last weekend writing a program that navigates through a maze using the breadth-first search method to find the quickest path (if it exists). As much as I hate to admit it, this project was kinda fun. I’ve always wondered if and when I was going to solve a problem like this in school. So I spend about 4 hours on Friday programming and a combined 22 hours on Saturday and Sunday. So…yeah…I didn’t leave the house much less my room at all over the weekend.
As for this week, I’ve got to read about 150 pages about pipelines and finish an assignment for that by Monday…which is my birthday. So Happy Birthday to me. I guess it’s a good thing that Kari is in Washington D.C. this week with her Mom visiting her brother. She picked a good week to go seeing as how I’ve been a little code monkey!
Speaking of my woman, we’ve got someone to make our cake for the wedding. Side story, we went to the Publix here in town that was closest to Carabelle (i.e Capital Circle SW/Crawfordville RD). We asked this old lady behind the counter about wedding cakes. She said, and I quote, “Well, they come in two flavors: chocolate and ‘nilla.” Nilla? Then I realized I was on the Wakulla side of town and that’s how they roll. In the end we decided to go with a lady in Crawfordville because the Publix wanted $100 to transport the cake down to Carabelle. We also picked out a wedding band for me as well (not at Publix though). Next up on the wedding plan list: getting the rehearsal dinner planned.
Ok, that’s all I have for updates today. Hopefully I can resume a regular posting schedule…again.
Update: I forgot to mention this, but I changed the URL to the forum. You can now access the forum using this web address: http://forum.joshuastarling.com/ . However, you don’t have to update your bookmarks, all the old links will continue to work a-ok.
