In Memoriam

Ahoy!

So what else has gone on since I’ve been working my little fingers into worn down nubs? I do have a bit of bad news to report. It is with a sad and heavy heart that I announce the following:

B Merrells has closed its doors. Yes. That’s right. After 15 years of serving the community lots and lots of beer and rotisserie chicken…they are no more. I’d like to say they store went out in the blaze of glory…with guns firing and explosions happening everywhere. But no, the store just faded away beneath crappy service and overpriced beer.

Things weren’t always that way. Oh no, in the beginning we had great service, good food, and a pleasant overall experience. We were regulars to the point with some waitresses that we would get free beers. Yes, that’s how awesome it was. Then the place started to take a turn for the worst. I think the owners saw what was going on. They brought in a new manager, hired new people, and even remodeled the place.

But alas, it got to the point where we had a new waitress every week. Once we finally conquered the World Beer Tour, we kinda got the feeling like they really didn’t care. Yes, we got our swag and they took our info for the wall of foam…but deep down…I think we knew our names would never get inscribed on the wall. Now that said wall is probably scheduled for demolition…I guess it really didn’t matter.

Besides, we know we finished a 130+ beers and we’ve got the cards and livers to prove it.

B Merrells, I raise my glass in your honor. You started off like a Sapporo but ended like a Dinkle Acker!

What kind of man gets a Zune tattoo? This guy.

Tredz.

Bizarre death of the day goes to this sweaty man in Shanghai, who was electrocuted by his computer when he tore the external casing off the CPU to cool it down.

Lame Superhero of the Week.

Pinch Hitter 2.

2 Fast, 2 Furious, and unable 2 avoid a parked semi.

Good to have you back buddy.
You forgot the link yesterday about the Disney Wine. I can read the sentence, but where do I click for more info?

And alas, poor B. Merrell’s. I hear it is going to become an Hour Glass eye clinic. Too bad after their renovations…or, uh, they slapped some paint on the walls and never really finished any of the remodeling.
