The Joys of Home Ownership #1

Yard work.

Ah yes…the joy trying to keep a well manicured yard. To some, an impossible task, and others…striving for the “Yard of the [insert time measurement here]” award. Thankfully I don’t live in a neighborhood like that. Why? Because yesterday evening was the first time I’ve mowed the grass since we got married. While the delay was mostly due to A) the drought and B) I’ve been working non-stop for two months, all the rain this week has caused the grass to asplode.

I should also mention that our house sits at the end of a cul-de-sac…on a lot and a half. So there’s a lot of yard to mow, especially with a push mower. On top of all that, we’re trying to clear out a rather nasty infestation of kudzu along our fences and bushes.

As such, this has been my life this week…finally out of the office and into the yard.
