Hot off the Press

As in, this just happened. Kari’s car was broken into this morning and her purse was stolen. She gets up every morning around 6:30 to go for a walk with a friend at (or around) Godby High School. So while she was walking around this morning, someone broke the car window and stole her purse. The same person also broke into her friend’s car and did the same thing. So that’s how I started my day…calling the insurance, credit card, and cell phone peoples. Kari isn’t home yet (she’s still with the cops), so I might be doing some more calling. I’ll try update this post later on today with more info.

What a way to start a Friday.

Update – 11:00 AM

Well it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Apparently when Kari got into her car this morning, her wallet fell out of her purse and was covered up by the copious amount of “stuff” in her car. So when the thief grabbed her purse, the wallet wasn’t in there. I would pay good money to see the look on their face when they opened the purse. However, the thief did get her cell phone, a set of keys, and a few other things. So we spent this morning canceling the cell phone, calling a locksmith for the house, scheduling the car window replacement, talking to our insurance people, and calling VW to rekey her car. We also had to organize the garage and I’m happy to report we were able to fit her car in there…just barely.
