The Second Coming of the Forum

Yes, you read that right. Forum has been nearly dead for the past few months. And by “nearly” I mean “on life support that could stop working any day now.” So I think it’s time to rally around the forum and get it fired back up.

In order to help motivate us, I’ve upgraded the forum to a brand, spankin’ new version. And just so you know…this new version is really awesome. It’ll probably take some getting used to…but I’m sure you’ll like it. Some highlights of the new version are:

• Attach files to posts.
• Embed YouTube and Google videos in the posts.
• Add folders for storing and categorizing private messages.
• Save a draft of a post without actually posting it.
• Full list here (right column for version 3).

I’m going to post an example which details how to do most of that. I’m also going to add sticky post to show you examples.

However, I do need to give you a heads up. While I was able to successfully import all of the member data, avatars, PMs, and posts…I’m still working on the color scheme. So I apologize up front if some things are hard to read. I’m working on getting that resolved as time allows.

Finally, I’ve updated the Forum link (http://forum.joshuastarling.com/) at the top of the page to point to the new forum. However, if you are still using the old, direct path (http://www.joshuastarling.com/phpBB2/), please update your bookmarks to point to either the updated forum link or to here. I’ve left the old forum up and running just in case. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE OLD ONE!
