Shipping Out

Hey everyone! I just realized that I totally forgot to post a message about me going on vacation. So…ummm…yeah…I left work last Friday and headed up to Gatlinburg TN for our annual visit. This year we decided to stay a little longer than usual. We left on Wednesday as opposed to our usual Monday departure.

So how was the trip? Cold. Very cold. We went through Cherokee and over the national park on the way up. There was snow everywhere, at least a foot or two piled up on the sides of the roads. We even got stuck behind a snow plow/salt truck on the way up the pass. They also closed the park right after we got on, so I suspect we made it just in time. But we did get to spend most of Sunday we my brother and his family, so it was great that we got to see them. We got home around 8 PM Wednesday night.

As for yesterday, I spent most of the day trying to catch up on everything I missed. Stuff like news and work happenings. I also found out late yesterday afternoon that I’m moving to a new location at work due to me changing projects. Sometime today I’m supposed to be shipping out to the Department of Financial Services building.

It’s kinda bittersweet. I’ll be on the other side of town so I won’t have to deal with I-10 or alternate routes anymore. But then again I’ll now have to fight downtown traffic. I also don’t know how much internet access I’ll have or to what degree it’s monitored…since it is a state agency. I already know that GTalk won’t work…so I’ll have to resort to using GChat in GMail.

So I’ll have to play it by ear as to what level of posting (content and links) I can do.
